TILL

I’m pleased to present a new large-scale artwork titled TILL – a generative piece produced in collaboration with digital artist Sam Healy, commissioned by New Media Scotland and Aberdeen Performing Arts. TILL explores the loss of Arctic summer sea ice over the last 130 years, translating historical records and satellite data into a shifting digital aerial landscape.

The artwork draws on my longstanding interest in combining found materials with climate-based record keeping – here using antique papers, letters, and ephemera to chart the passing of time and the melting of sea ice in one of Earth’s most vulnerable regions. TILL opens next week at Aberdeen Music Hall, and runs during the Tall Ships Races 2025. View a short making of film and read more about the production process here.
