This page presents selected artworks from David Cass’ largest series, featuring seascapes painted mostly in watercolour onto found wooden supports, but also in mixed media onto vintage card and canvas. Land, coast and cityscapes can also be seen, alongside unpainted constructions. Almost every artwork Cass has produced since his final year at Edinburgh College of Art is united by the depiction of water. Created using exclusively recycled materials – found at flea-markets and antique fairs – each piece contributes to a greater whole, the date of completion often listed as part of the artwork title. These works have been exhibited internationally and now feature in both private and public collections. Learn more in the presentation Journey of an Artwork.
